Description
My family and I smelled some crude on Saturday night. We live close to the oil spill that is happening and The smell of crude still sometimes reaches our house intermittently.

On March 5th, agencies confirmed there was an oil leak. The City of Bakersfield does not know how long the pipe has been leaking and sent out flyers that listed the symptoms of being exposed to the leaking oil. This incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Kern County CUPA (Certified Unified Program Agencies).
CCEJN has submitted multiple public records requests to governmental agencies involved in this incident in order to find out additional information regarding the cause, remediation of the area, repair of the pipe, and any regulatory action due to the spill.
