Description
On April 1, 2015, along a dirt road and in a lower drainage area to one side of the dirt road, tons of cow manure was observed to be very recently spread in an approximately 4 inch to 8 inch thick layer for at least half a mile. This method of disposal will cause the manure to blow in the wind all summer to other areas. The salts, antibiotics, and viruses (e.coli) in this manure will likely travel to other areas of Kern County and salts in the manure may also percolate into the ground water when the area is rained on or flooded from adjacent agricultural operations.
